If someone can’t feed their kids, telling them to 'just work harder' isn’t advice — it’s delusion.

You can tell a man to work harder, but if there’s no food on the shelf, it doesn’t matter how early he gets up. You can tell a woman to start a business, but if her rent takes half her pay and her body’s already broken from double shifts, there’s no business to start.

They want you to believe it’s your fault. That you failed. That you didn’t hustle enough. That you didn’t want it bad enough. That you didn’t dream big enough.

But that’s a lie.

Because when millions of people are struggling, and only a few are getting richer, that’s not failure. That’s the plan. That’s how the system works. Not for you, but against you. Always has.

The Cycle

They start by cutting. Not much at first. Just enough to make the lights flicker and the paint peel. The schools lose a few teachers. The hospitals stretch the nurses thin. Buses stop running after dark. The cracks in the ceiling spread. But not enough to raise a fuss. Not yet.

And when the cracks show, they say it’s the fault of the thing itself. Government, they say, doesn’t work. Too slow. Too bloated. Too broken. And we nod. Because we’ve been in those waiting rooms. We’ve stood in the rain for a bus that never came. We’ve filled out forms and waited for answers that didn’t arrive. So we believe them. Because it feels true.

Then they offer us a way out. Not by fixing it. Not by tending to the wounds. But by selling the body for parts. They call it efficiency. Innovation. Freedom. Private companies step in, lean and smiling. The services shrink, but the prices swell. A few get very rich. The rest of us get bills.

Then the state steps back. “We have less to manage now,” they say. So they cut again. More teachers are gone. More beds closed. More trains off the tracks. The house falls in on itself and they sell the ruins.

It goes on like this. Each time, the same play. Break it, blame it, sell it. Then do it again. Until the whole thing is hollowed out and we no longer remember what solid looked like. Until we speak the language of profit like it was always ours. Until we forget it was once different. That it could be different still.

This isn’t a mistake. This is the plan. Hollow it. Point at the hole. Say it proves the thing never worked. Then sell the silence where the service used to be.

And we go on, wondering why the roof leaks, never knowing they tore out the beams.

The Blame

And through it all, they tell you it’s your fault. That you should have studied harder. Saved more. Worked weekends. Said yes more. Said no less.

They want you tired. They want you ashamed. A man who thinks it’s his fault won’t raise his fist. He’ll lower his head. He won’t ask for more. He’ll try to be better.

This is how they win. Not with guns. With shame.

The Inside War

They don’t just take your money. They take your mind. They get inside you.

You work on yourself. You read the books. You take the courses. You get the app. You work out not for health, but to be more productive. You meditate to focus. You go to therapy to keep working.

Even rest is now for performance. You don’t rest to rest. You rest to be ready.

You feel lazy when you do nothing. Guilty when you stop. There is a voice in your head that tells you you are never enough.

That voice is not yours. It is the voice of the system speaking through you.

They want you to manage yourself. Control yourself. Push yourself. So they don’t have to.

And you do.

The Lie of Individual Power

They tell you individual action is the way out. Use the right straw. Buy the right product. Sort your waste. Fix yourself.

But it’s not true.

You can recycle all you want, and still the ocean dies. You can eat local, and still the sky warms. You can buy better, and still the factories burn through the night.

Because the system does not care what you want. It runs on profit, not conscience. On growth, not need.

We sort the trash. We stop buying new clothes. We feel proud. We nod to others doing the same. We wear these acts like medals. Small proof we are good people.

Better than some.

We claim it’s progress. But it’s not. Not if it ends there. Our individual actions are just symbols of virtue we display while the house burns—like tidying the closet before the ceiling caves in.

A man alone cannot stop the fire. What matters is what we do together.

You are not the problem. You alone are not the solution. You were never meant to be.

The Real Power

So what can you do? You stop blaming yourself.

That is the first step.

You look up. You see others. You say: This is not just me. You say: This is not fair. You say: Let’s fix this. Together.

Because the system wants you quiet. Alone. Afraid.

But when people stop blaming themselves, they start talking. When they talk, they organize. When they organize, things change.

Not through apps. Not through brands. Through people.

The Shift

They want you to think suffering is a sign of weakness. It isn’t. It’s a sign something’s wrong.

They want you to think working all the time makes you good. It doesn’t. It makes you tired.

They want you to think rest must be earned. It doesn’t. It must be taken.

You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be honest. You need to stop competing. You need to stop apologizing.

You need to stop fixing yourself when it’s the world that is broken.

The Ending

So yes, take care of yourself. But not to be more useful. Take care of yourself because you are worthy.

Yes, grow. But not to compete. Grow so you can show others it’s possible.

Yes, be strong. But not for success. Be strong for justice. For each other.

The most dangerous lie is that it’s your fault.
